KM 71, issued for the Albertine Line Royal Duchy of Saxony, as Electors of the German Empire. Quarter dollar size silver coin, with a coat of arms on the obverse.
An Elector had the right to vote in the election of a new Emperor.
During the "Kipper and Wipper Period" of financial chaos, many locations heavily debased their coinage, to save silver for arms for the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648).  Other locations did not debase their own coinage, but issued heavily debased coinage of their neighbors!
