Repurposing is a life practice for me. As a 65-year-old native Oregonian; recycling and respect for nature were foundational in both my childhood family life and my culture. In addition, as my husband and I raised our four children, frugality was essential, and hand-me-downs were a blessing for our one-income household.
Growing old gracefully is no easy task, and the indignities that infirmities often impose upon us are not easy to navigate. An adult can wear this cover-up without feeling diminished. One of my goals is to be a resource for care-givers, helping them bring beauty, comfort, hope, grace, and inspiration—i.e. dignity—to the difficult and often demeaning circumstances of aging and/or disability.
